  • Any of the dermatology type conditions (e.g. acne, rash, hives, eczema, warts etc)

  • Breast problems for both men and women,

  • Cold/flu

“I want general advice"

With the ever growing pressures on GP surgeries and national shortage of GP's, Denburn are continually looking for ways to improve access to meet demand and allocate correctly the type of service, or advice, your condition requires.

faceRequests can be logged ANYTIME!! - 24hrs a day, 7 days a week face

This means you do not have to wait for the morning rush to request help for your medical problem or query. Clinicians will have sight of the requests and act upon them during normal practice opening hours between 0800-1800hrs Mon-Friday.

We have now introduced an online service called eConsult. eConsult has several functions. It can help you with self diagnosis using its symptom checker and self-help information. It can help you determine the most appropriate place to go with your condition - which may be your local pharmacy or the national 111 help line, and it provides a mechanism to submit a secure eConsult direct to the GP of your choice.

Please see below for a video of how this service works for you

This service is designed to help those who have difficulty attending during opening hours or for those who just need assistance. To use this service just click on the sign above.

**COVID-19 UPDATE**

As of 16 March, the Scottish Government has asked that anyone developing symptoms consistent with COVID-19, however, mild, should stay at home for 7 days from the onset of symptoms as per existing advice.  In addition, it is now recommended that anyone living in the same household as a symptomatic person should isolate for 14 days.  The most common symptoms of COVID-19 are recent onset of new continuous dry cough and/or a temperature above 37.8.

Further, people are advised to take social distancing measures to help reduce the social transmission of COVID-19.  In particular this is advised for people aged 70 or over, people with underlying medical conditions and pregnant women.

Patients with concerns regarding COVID-19 symptoms are advised to call 111 day/night if they require advice and help.  Please do not call the surgery or go to the surgery.  If you require a sick note due to COVID-19 you can get this from the NHS Inform website as follows:

Medical Lines

If you require a medical line due to self isolation of 7 or 14 days, please do not contact the Surgery, but refer to the following website for a virtual line:

https://111.nhs.uk/isolation-note

This improvement provides patients with a simple dedicated route to clinical advice and support, as well as freeing up GP Practices to treat and care for non-COVID19 health conditions.

Our Telephone Appointment service:

If you want advice about a health problem, you can now have an appointment by the telephone and speak directly with a clinician on the day that you call.

  • Call us on 0345 013 0740
  • Inform the receptionist of your name - date of birth - address - contact number
  • A brief description of your health problem (the more information you provide the easier it will be to prioritise your call and work out how to help you best)

A clinician will then call you back and discuss the best way to help with your problem. This may involve a face to face appointment, advice or referral to another health care professional.

Our phone lines are restricted for emergency calls only between the hours of 1200 - 1300hrs.  During this time please contact the emergency line on 07487 418289.

The practice generally deals with all requests for appointments/advice between the hours of 0800 - 1200hrs and 1300 - 1500hrs.  If you are calling for an appointment we would ask you try and call between 0800 - 1200hrs if possible.  However, at times of high demand we will prioritise emergencies and therefore not be able to accept requests for routine care/advice during the above times.  If this is the case, then you will be informed of this when contacting reception and will be offered to have a callback, from a clinician the next day or any alternate day that suits you.
